In an interview for MSNBC, the US President addressed the burning issues in the Middle East, assuring that America can penetrate the air defense missile systems Russia is supplying to Iran.

President of the United States, Barack Obama, addressed Russia’s supply of S-300 air defense missile systems to Iran tonight (Wednesday), claiming that if the Islamic Republic does in fact arm itself with the advanced missiles, the US could still overcome them.

“Even if they’ve got some air defense systems, if we had to, we could penetrate them,” Obama stated in an interview for MSNBC. The American President added that the US will continue to oppose the missile deal between Moscow and Teheran.

Obama also addressed Iran’s support of the Houthi rebels in Yemen, after the mission against them was aborted: “What we've said to them is that if there are weapons delivered to factions within Yemen that could threaten navigation, that's a problem. And we're not sending them obscure messages - we send them very direct messages about it,” Obama stated.

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia officially announced that operation “Decisive Storm” against the Houthi rebels in Yemen has come to an end. The Saudis declared their victory, but according to reports on Arab media, one of the reasons that led to the surprising decision was pressure put on them from Russia.
Saudi Arabia stressed that its efforts would now focus on diplomatic channels, in an attempt to prevent extremists from regaining control in Yemen. That being said, Saudi security forces reserve the right to renew their activity in Yemen according to developments in the region.
