MP: I’ll part ways with CCM

Nyang’hwale MP Hussein Amar has announced to part ways with ruling CCM ahead of 2015 elections, a move observers sense a defection to the opposition.
The MP said during his public meeting with Nyang’hwale residents that he would not defend his seat under CCM membership, saying he was fed up with dirty politics in the ruling party.
He accused CCM leaders in the constituency of selfishness and irresponsibility and claimed most often they undermined his efforts to bring development to Nyang’hwale.
“I won’t contest the seat as a CCM member in the 2015 elections, because I can’t work with people who are not committed to serving voters,” he told residents in a public meeting with Nyang’hwale residents.
He, however, didn’t reveal which party he would join ahead of the 2015 elections, but, he promised to officially announce his next move in May this year.
He said, throughout his tenure as an MP of the newly promoted district, he was forced to spend his own money to ensure the residents get proper health, education, electricity and communication.
He claimed to have injected Sh25 million for a road, Sh6 million in cleaning 85 water reservoirs and Sh35 million in buying hospital and school equipment.
“I have already spent over Sh1.5 billion in my four years as Nyanghwale MP.”
He said his colleagues were not appreciating his initiatives and instead were calling him names.
“My colleagues don’t support me. They claimed I am a Freemason and the one involved in skinning human beings,” he complained. Since he was still committed to serve his people, the MP promised to complete construction of children ward and a mortuary at Nyangh’wale hospital before February 15.
The CCM secretary in the district, Mr Nicolaus Kasenamila, who was not impressed with the MP’s statement, accused him of lacking wisdom.
Responding, the CCM chairman and Buukwimba councilor, Yavini Noah, said the MP was supposed to bring his grievances before CCM members and not to the public.
“He spoke to the wrong people at the wrong place,” said the chairman.
