Al Jazeera announced that in the next few days it will be publishing hundreds of secret documents, which include information on the methods of operation of intelligence agencies across the globe, including on the Israeli Mossad and Iranian nuclear program.

The Qatari network “Al Jazeera” announced that it has acquired a large database of secret documents from intelligence agencies across the globe, and is planning on publishing them in the next few days, in cooperation with the British newspaper “The Guardian”. The database, which includes documents regarding the Israeli Mossad and the Iranian nuclear program, provide a unique glimpse into the world of espionage.
Based on one of these documents, the Mossad told Israel’s allies that Iran is not attempting to create nuclear weapons, this only a month after Netanyahu warned that Teheran is a year away from attaining a bomb.
Materials for the investigation were collected between 2006 and 2014, and include detailed briefings and internal analysis written by the South African State Security Agency. The documents reveal the secret relations between the South African intelligence agency and the CIA, the British intelligence agency MI6, the Israeli Mossad and the Russian FSB.

Contrary to the thousands of documents leaked by Edward Snowden, which focused on electronic surveillance devices known in the intelligence world as “SIGINT” (Signals Intelligence), the Al Jazeera documents deal mostly with human intelligence, or “HUMINT”.
Al Jazeera stressed that though publication of the documents, which include names of secret agents, is an important contribution for the benefit of the public, they will omit names in order not to put involved parties in harms way.
